PROGRAM RULES

HOUSE RULES AND BEHAVIOR EXPECTATION POLICY

1)      Sign out each time you leave the residence, and sign in each time you return to the residence.

2)      No food or drinks in the bedroom, restroom, or living room.

3)      Clients are not allowed into the refrigerator. Please ask the House Manager or Staff if you need something from the refrigerator.

4)      The TV must be put off at 10 P.M. latest to ensure other clients are not disturbed from Sunday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 11 PM.

5)      Clean up after each meal and put your dishes in the cabinet

6)      All dirty linen should be put in dirty linen baskets found in your closets

7)      We must keep our surroundings always clean. All trash should be disposed in trash receptacles

8)      NO SMOKING in the facility. There is a smoking area found by fence at the backyard. Smoking is allowed SEVEN (7) times daily 9am after morning meds, breakfast, and after morning chores, 11am,1pm,3pm,5pm,7pm, and 8pm.

9)      Shower or bath and personal hygiene must be completed daily.

10)  Residents may use the house telephone to call their family members/friends. However, talking on the phone may be limited to about 5-10 minutes.

11)  Using your personal phones in the facility is a privilege that needs to be earned backed by good behavior and by following all program rules. The personal phone use privilege will be taken away for 30 days if a client fails to follow the rules, relapses, or break the rules. There is a blackout rule for the first 2 weeks of admission where cell phones stay in the office.

12)  Cell phones are turned in daily at 10pm and returned in the morning at 8am in the morning the next day.

13)  Residents are not allowed in other residents’ bedrooms.

14)  Laundry starts at 5pm daily on weekdays on assigned days as follows-Monday room 1, Tuesday RM 2, Wednesday RM 3, and Thursday RM 4.

15)   Chores schedules - all clients are responsible for completing their weekly house and bathroom chores, (sweep, clean sink, counter tops/mirror, mop floor, wash dishes/bathtub etc.).

16)  Residents are encouraged to keep their bedrooms, bathrooms clean and tidy always.

17)  This is a DRUG and ALCOHOL-FREE facility. No drugs/alcohol in the facility. There will be a routine and random search announced or unannounced. All residents shall be searched before entering the van from shopping, before entering the house when coming from an outside appointment. All Residents shall be pat down with the back of the hand and asked to take out their pockets during search. If a client is suspected of hiding contrabands on their body other that their pockets such as breast, underwear, they will be asked by same gender staff to be searched in a private room where the resident will be instructed to take off all large jackets, pants, and any large outfit that may be hiding a contraband. The residents will not take off their underwear or bra. The residents shall pat themselves with the direction of staff. The staff is not allowed to touch the resident at any time when completing a private search. All residents are subject to a random drug screening test.

18)  No act of Bullying or physical aggression or threat towards staff member or fellow clients will be tolerated inside this facility. Any client that violets this policy will be discharged and or will face legal prosecution.

19)  Always wear appropriate clothes or robes. Any clothing that exposes any body parts is forbidden inside this treatment facility.

20)  When you go in or out any door, close it behind you to keep out flies and insects.

21)  Facility Visitation hours are from 9am-6pm Saturday/Sunday.

22)  Destruction of facility property cannot be tolerated and any client that violates this rule will be charged in the court of law for property damages.

23)  The spread of rumors or falsified information’s about fellow clients or staff cannot be tolerated and anyone found doing so will face some consequences and up to discharge.

24)  Do not touch others’ belongings or steal from others.

25)  Do not answer residential phone when it rings. Get a staff member to assist you if a message needs to be taken.

26)  Medicines prescribed by your doctor/psychiatrist should be taken at designated times. If you have any concerns feel free to discuss them with the nurse, doctor, or staff member.

27)  Answer the door only when a staff member is nearby.

28)  Do not hit, touch, or physically hurt anyone in the house.

29)  If a problem arises with anyone in the house, please report immediately to the house manager. If the house manager is not present, report to a staff member for resolution.

30)  The latest dose of any medication should be taken 1 hour past prescribed time. Except during emergencies like difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or severe chest pain, all medications will be administered the following morning.

31)  No swearing or name-calling in the house.

32)  Do not borrow from or lend money to other residents or staff.

33)  If you listen to music in your room, headphones should be worn out of respect for other residents.

34)  Individual days of stay outings after ninety - No going out of the residence after 6:00pm. Your cooperation will be very much appreciated.

35)  No touching or hugging anyone is allowed in the house. If you need to touch or hug someone, please make sure you get their permission. Touching someone without their permission can sometimes lead to misinterpretation and misunderstanding of intentions.

36)  No love relationships between two individuals living in this facility should be expressed. For example, kissing between two individuals in or around these premises will be a violation of this rule and will be unacceptable and could lead to discharge.

37)  Upon admission into our facility, residents must hand over to staff all money, bank cards, ID/DL for safe-keeping. Failure to do so, you will have yourself to blame if your money is lost or stolen.

38) This is a drug-free facility. No kind of drugs are acceptable here (INCLUDING MEDICAL MARIJUANA EVEN IF YOU HAVE A CARD) 

39) Famond Care Network is a 24/7 BHRF. Members staying here are not allowed to work. If you want to work, then you must step down to a lesser level of care.

NB

40) Do not intentionally disturb the peace of the neighbors. No member should knock on the doors, look over the fence, curse out, or use profanity on the neighbors. If a member continuously and intentionally does any of the above prohibitions and declines redirection, Famond Care Network will request the member to be reprimanded to a psych hospital and ask the clinical team to look for another placement for the member.

Talk to a staff member if you need anything from the neighbor(S). The staff will formally and civilly communicate with the neighbor. No member should ever knock on the door or look over the fence of the neighbors.
